We'll be honest, we wouldn't recommend these unless they were really good. Because these are a little expensive for shorts, in our opinion. But after several people told us about them, we tried them and agree, they're worth the price because you won't want to take them off. Modeled off of a vintage pair of P.E. shorts, they're cut from a nice mid-weight cotton with the perfect 5 ½” inseam. Available in four colors, they seem to look right with any top and any shoe choice, which is good because we'll be wearing the hell out of them until October.

Blame it on Independence Day. But we're feeling these Made in the USA sneakers right now. The 990 sneaker from New Balance debuted in 1982 as a serious running shoe. Sporting an elegantly understated grey colorway (and a then unheard of three-figure price tag), it was so good that the brand never stopped making it. This modern American-made version offers a streamlined take on the mesh and suede overlays and a few fine-tuned adjustments to the cushioning.

Not every light has to shine brightly. What this small lamp lacks in illumination, it makes up for with ambiance. This sleek lamp from Montreal-based designer Stamátios Fragos is crafted from hand-brushed walnut. The elegant wooden dowels conceal a light-sensitive LED bulb, which turns on automatically in low light. It's ideal for a nightstand to create just the right mood in the bedroom, or placed in a bookcase to offer a pocket of warm light in a corner.

It's tough to make sport shades that are as stylish as they are comfortable. But District Vision has managed to do it. Designed in close collaboration with LA's renowned Golden Saddle Cyclery, these glasses have a throwback design and feature injected nylon construction with titanium armature and hardware making them both easy to wear for long periods and durable enough for rough rides. They also come equipped with special polarized lenses that work in both bright and low light.

Not all camp collar shirts have to be so ... tropical. This one, from J.Crew, has a slight 1950s vibe, with it's oversized polka dot pattern and rounded dual chest pocket. The soft slub cotton fabric is made with twisted cotton yarns that are specially woven to produce a slightly textured look and feel. This looks as good under a light suit for a summer wedding as it does over a wife pleaser tank and some nylon shorts.
