Stephen Kenn, the Los Angeles-based furniture maker, has just introduced this clever innovation: a sleek sofa that looks great on its own but can easily be converted into two single beds (or a split king). The base has four deep storage drawers to keep extra blankets and pillows. What's more, if can be customized in a range of metals and fabrics. But such quality and design doesn't come cheap. Perhaps you could charge your first few houseguests to help recoup some of the cost.
