It's the 160-year-old heritage brand you've never heard of. Devold started out on the West coast of Norway, knitting base layers and mittens for the local fishermen; and a traditional Norwegian red beanie called a rØdlua. It grew to be one of the largest textile factories in Norway. Today, they're reviving the brand with a cool collection designed by The Hill-Side's Emil Corsillo. One our favorite pieces? This double-zippered cardigan, knit from pure new wool from Norwegian sheep that's been pre-washed for softness and to eliminate shrinkage.

This is a classic luxury piece, for a whole lot less than you'd expect. Pull on a shearling collared jacket and you instantly look cool. And this one, from Danish label SUIT, offers all the style and functionality of jackets that cost five times what this will run you. Based out of Copenhagen, SUIT's focus is on shape, tailoring, and how the garments fit your body—all of which are incredibly important when it comes to outerwear.

Carry your stuff safely and stylishly in this slim backpack. Crafted from the same water-resistant polyurethane/polyester material as Rain's signature raincoats, the brand's slim backpack makes an ideal carry-all for any weather forecast. Available in black or a rich army green, it's got a low profile and such ingenious features as a top flap that snaps into place with magnets, neatly organized inner storage compartments and a discreetly hidden zippered pocket for ultimate security.

Let's call this a 2019 update on the Dad sneakers of last year. New Balance's 990s are pretty much an unimpeachable sneaker when you break down what makes them so uniquely stylish. They've got a nice balance of details and textures and this pair, particularly, has a unique ombre colorway that fades from grey to black.

Painting is the easiest thing you can do to improve your place. And this new brand makes the whole process more modern, fun and a helluva lot easier. Backdrop is the stylish, smart direct-to-consumer model we're now all familiar with, but for paint. Which is a good thing. If you've tried to get paint from the hardware store, then you know there's a baffling amount of colors and the quality can be questionable. Backdrop has curated a select lineup of colors that look great in a modern man's home, shipped (free) right to your door in easy-to-pour square cans. And if you'd like to sample the colors, they'll send you 12"x12" adhesive swatches which you can put up on your wall for a quick test.
