Epic Travel Adventures,
No Planning Needed
Airbnb is now offering easy expertly-planned trips,
hosted by local guides
The trouble with planning bucket list worthy trips is the overwhelming amount of work and research it takes to orchestrate the perfect journey. Which is exactly why Airbnb is aiming to remove the headache with the launch of Airbnb Adventures. These multi-day experiences are hosted by local experts that take small groups to unique, off-the-beaten-path locations and immerse them in the native cultures.
A turn-key solution to eager but inexperienced travelers, the guided service comes complete with accommodations, meals, on-the-ground transport and relevant equipment (when necessary). No need to look up trustworthy outfitters or worry about what to bring. Your host will coordinate your gear list and provide a detailed itinerary. What's more, every excursion has been vetted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association for safety and best practices.

There are over 200 global adventures to choose from and they're all reasonably priced, considering everything's taken care of for you. The prices range from $79 to $5,000, but the average cost is $588 for a three-day trip (not including flights). From tracking lions on foot with Samburu warriors in Kenya and camping on the side of a Colorado cliff to a jungle trek through a Brazilian rainforest, the list of available trips reads like a choose-your-own-adventure menu.
Which seems to be just what we want these days. Earlier this year, Forbes reported that 74 percent of Americans prioritize experiences over products. And that 65 percent of millennials are currently saving money to travel, which is more than the average for other generations. This isn't a bad thing, considering that multiple studies have found that spending money on experiences brings more lasting joy than spending money on physical goods. These trips definitely take experiential travel to the next level. The only question is how far do you want to go?
