Farm Tactics, the West Coast line designed by Kyle Ng, started out of his desire to produce the ideal T-shirt back in 2006. He eventually started selling the shirts at top men's shops like Unionmade, Need Supply Co. and Odin. Soon the brand gained a following for its simple designs and quality fabrication. Influenced by the outdoors, Native American crafts and folk art, the clothes have a modern style and fit which is complemented by an easy, earthy sensibility. The recently refreshed line includes a range of colorful American-made staples crafted from naturally dyed fabrics milled in California, Canada and Japan. The chinos here, for example, got their color from a bath imbibed with grounded chestnuts, tree bark and iron oxide. The color blocked tote bag? Finished with recycled vintage climbing rope. Relaxed yet refined, it's the kind of tension that reflects the way guys like to dress today.
