Available in the early fall through the winter, butternut squash is the most flavorful and versatile of its vine-ripened brethren. With a taste that's part pumpkin and part yam, the sweet and nutty flesh makes for a casual and comfortable meal. Not to mention a nutritional jackpot. And while there are gobs of soup, casserole and bread recipes, this fool-proof pizza delicately balances the sweet and savory.
