A trimmed down button-down makes you look taller and slimmer. Just ask Scott Sternberg, the designer for Band of Outsiders, who's perfected the art of the razor-sharp yet still relaxed oxford shirt.
"You've got to tow the line between fitted and tight. A tight shirt pulls in places it shouldn't and unless you're really slim you probably can't pull that off," warns Sternberg. "A fitted one—or at least a Band shirt—has higher armholes and a defined waist so you don't look like a shapeless blob."
