Anyone who likes to golf or drive with his arm resting on the window knows the pain of mismatched tan lines. And trust us, whether it's a farmer's tan on your arms or sock lines on your feet, there's nothing less sexy. But thankfully it's a pretty easy fix. First start by scrubbing the tanned body parts in the shower to remove any dead skin. That will lighten things up a bit. Then, depending on if you've got just a little color or a lot, here's how to even things out.
Apply an SPF of 30 or greater (like Blue Lizard) to the tanned areas and nothing (or an SPF of 5 for the cautious) on the pale parts.
Lay out. This may take a couple of days, but it will fill in naturally.
Smear on a regular moisturizer or lotion to areas that are already tanned.
Carefully apply a sunless tanner (like Clarins' Instant gel or L'Oreal's easy-to-apply towelettes) to fill in the white spots. Then, simply wait a few hours for the color to develop.
