The Best Men's Track Pants
Stylish, comfortable and pretty damn affordable too.
Armie Hammer always look good in the way that any strapping, six-foot-five leading man does, but he cemented his style god status while promoting his film Call Me by Your Name. It was during these long months of screenings, junkets and appearances that Hammer donned his now famous Adidas Superstar track suit. In every shade. Everywhere from his on-camera interviews and airport arrivals to restaurants and art galleries.
And while track jackets and pants are currently enjoying a revival of sorts, Hammer is through with them. After 14 months of sartorial bliss, he announced on Conan last night that the love affair is over. "I would like to take this moment on the show to officially announce my retirement from tracksuits," he said. "I got oversaturated and burned out on tracksuits."
When asked about how it all started, Hammer chocked it up to what he calls "the fuck its" and likened it to a senior in college rolling to class in his pajamas. "My equivalency was tracksuits. I thought, 'You know what? If I'm going to go jump through these hoops and I'm going to continue to talk about this movie that I've talked about ad nauseum, I'm going to be comfortable,'" he said, "And I decided to dress comfortable."
But after it became a big thing, and piece after piece was written about it, he's moving on. And we can't help but feel a little ... heartbroken.
The number of tracksuits (from Fendi and Armani to Oscar Meyer) currently hanging in Hammer's closet.
