How to: Pull Off Black Denim

Man cannot survive on blue jeans alone. And on days when you feel like something different or a little less casual, a pair of black denim dungarees offers up a relaxed refinement which make for a cool alternative to flannel trousers. Look for simple, straight-leg styles with a dark wash and little to no embellishments. Of course, black jeans can at times look a bit extreme (think Johnny Cash or hipsters with ripped, painted-on styles), so make sure to pair yours with light-colored neutrals on top.
