As soon as the the Soho outpost of the Japanese retail giant opened, hipsters, tourists and native New Yorkers have been drawn to the stark white building behind its red-and-white banner. Not only are Uniqlo's products affordable, they are well-designed and it seems a great amount of thought goes into them. The greatest example of this was when designer Jil Sander began making her famed +J collection for the company, each season always bringing a smart capsule collection of relatively inexpensive, versatile pieces.
