Origins

The brushed fleece athletic pants were invented in the early 1920s by sportsman Emile Camuset for his company Le Coq Sportif.

How to Wear It

These new styles are cut slim with a slightly tapered leg, and a shorter hem so they sit right above your shoe. Wear them with a pair of sneakers like Nike or Adidas and balance it out with a less athletic top like a denim or flannel shirt.

What to Look for

You want your sweats to look cozy but sharp. Look for slimmer styles that aren't too long—you don't want too much bunching around the ankles. And zippered pockets are a nice addition.
