Why

It's one of those rare garments that can be worn all year long, looks good on any guy and never really goes out of style.

Origins

The legendary outwear first appeared around 1905, and it was meant as a protective piece to accompany rugged denim pantaloons.

How to Wear It

Pull a denim jacket over anything. Layering one under your trench or blazer will provide a little insulation and some rugged style.

What to Look for

A trim fit, well made and sturdily attached buttons and plenty of pockets. Keep an eye out for interesting non-denim versions too.
