The Knit Sneaker

Before, performance sneakers were the sort of thing you wouldn't dare wear outside of the gym, but lately companies like Nike have been balancing function with form. Their latest feat? A sneaker utilizing a revolutionary knit technology, the Flyknit Trainer and Racer. The innovative sneaker is currently making its rounds on the feet of Team USA—both on medal stands and the race track. You can get into the Olympic spirit too, since they just became available over the weekend. The Racer weighs in at just a mere 5.6 ounces, while the Trainer+ clocks in at 7.7 ounces. The lightweight sole and breathable upper make for a breezy performance sneaker that can easily be worn sockless. It's also compatible with the popular Nike+ app.

Styling Tip

Of course, this is a shoe you can wear to the gym. But it looks just as good with a pair of jeans or cuffed chinos for an easy off-duty look.
