Taking in the menswear trade shows last week, we stayed at midtown Manhattan's new Ace Hotel. The first east coast outpost for Alex Calderwood's hip Seattle-based hotel group, the Ace was ground zero for the fashion pack that week—Quoddy set up a make-shift showroom in a room down the hall and we met Apolis Activism designer Raan Parton at the communal table in the lobby. Not surprising, considering the hotel's style:  Pendleton blankets, candles by Le Labo and boxer-style jersey robes by Wings + Horns. Even the bellhops sport Surface to Air and Converse Chucks. Upstairs, the rooms are decked out in a masculine mix of flea market finds and efficient industrial touches. Meaning you won't feel like you're in a hotel room, but rather at the well-equipped apartment of your coolest friend.
