Rock the Soap

Politics is a dirty game. This much we know. But even the most sullied of politicos takes a break from the mudsling and wants to wash up now and then. Just ask Caswell-Massey. The 256-year-old purveyor of fine milled soaps has been stocking the dopp kits of presidents since George Washington. For this election season, the company has released a specialty set of presidential favorites. Washington was a fan of Number Six, a blend of citrus and bergamot while a sweet Almond Cold Cream was Dwight D. Eisenhower's favorite. Rounding out the set is the slightly spicy, yet fresh Jockey Club, which sat on the edge of John F. Kennedy's sink.

  • JFK wore custom-made shirts by Charvet, but had the French company's labels removed.
