The ALICE (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) pack was designed by the US military in 1973 to carry 50 lbs of your gear into combat. So it should handle your laptop and lunch with no problems. It's also pretty smart looking. The camo's on trend and those red-white-and-blue straps give it a Thom Browne feel. And since these American-made packs were purchased vintage, one out of every seven bags will include an envelope with a recovered item enclosed—from whistles to canteen covers.
